MTV aired the 2011 Video Music Awards yesterday. Ironic, considering that MTV hasn't aired actual music videos in awhile. In fact, can you even see music videos on TV anymore, or are they all only viewable online nowadays?
I didn't watch the VMAs, but googled all the performances today. Highlights were Bruno Mars's tribute to Amy Winehouse, singing "Valerie," and Adele's "Someone Like You." Both were excellent, especially Adele. It was just her and a piano player - such a refreshing change from all the auto-tuned singers. I always get her song "Rolling in the Deep" in my head whenever I hear it. If you haven't heard Linkin Park's version of this song, you should check this out:

Lady Gaga spent the whole show in drag as her alter ego, Joe Cardelone. The result was...odd, to say the least. One thing you have to admire her for: she is certainly dedicated.
The biggest news that came out of the VMAs was that Beyonce is pregnant. She's about three months along with her baby with Jay Z. Now that baby will have a recording contract from the moment he/she comes out of the womb, just like how some university is already offering tennis scholarships to the kids of Steffi Graf and Andre Agassi.
