So You Think You Can Dance Season 8 Performance Finale

Just finished watching the So You Think You Can Dance season 8 performance finale.  The guest judges tonight are Kenny Ortega and Katie Holmes.

I like the four finalists.  I would be OK with any of them winning, although my favorite is Melanie.  Melanie is such an amazing dancer and actress, and appears to be really goofy and sweet in real life.

My top five favorite routines tonight:

1) Melanie and Robert's contemporary routine choreographed by Stacey Tookey
2) Melanie and Tadd's jazz routine choreographed by Ray Leeper
3) Marko and Lauren's contemporary routine choreographed by Tessandra Chavez
4) Sasha and Marko's Broadway routine choreographed by Spencer Liff
5) Tadd and Joshua's hip hop routine choreographed by Lil' C.

The one disaster was the cha-cha with Sasha and Tadd.  I don't know what Mark Ballas was thinking.  That cha-cha choreography was horrible, and the two dancers looked so uncomfortable.

Random celebrity sighting in the audience: Priscilla Presley

Cat is fantastic as usual.  She even tried to get Melanie a job with one of the tonight's judges, Kenny Ortega, who's remaking Dirty Dancing.  She totally deserves the Emmy nomination, and I would love it if she wins.  Emmy voters, please make it happen.
